Bishop Wilbert Lee Daniels, Sr.

A native of  Goldsboro, North Carolina, Bishop Wilbert L. Daniels, Sr., was born January 23, 1930 to the late Mr. Elroy and Mrs. Arlethia Daniels. He is the fourth of nine children, five boys and four girls. Bishop Wilbert L. Daniels received his education from Booker T. Washington High School. He continued his education at Norfolk State College (University), Berean Bible School, and Trinity Hall Seminary. He is the husband of Missionary Lillian Boyette Daniels, First Lady of St. Paul Church of God in Christ. He is the father of Wilbert Jr., Brenda, Michele, Paulette, Michael, Annette, Darlene, Shelton, and Stephen.
All nine of Bishop Daniels children play an active and essential role in his ministry.
In 1953 Bishop Daniels acknowledged his call to the ministry and on August 27, 1958 he was ordained as an Elder. In July 1962, Bishop Daniels was appointed to Pastor of St. Paul Church of God in Christ. In June 1975, The Trinity Hall Seminary bestowed upon Bishop Daniels an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Divinity.
He is the founder of the Words of Life Radio and Television Ministry, the Jurisdiction Prelate of Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, State of Virginia, Church of God in Christ, Inc.; Chairman of the Pastors’ and Elders’ Council, COGIC 2nd Jurisdiction, VA; the President of the Church of God in Christ High-Rise Apartments; Member of the Charles Harrison Mason Foundation, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the Rainbow Coalition; Former member of the National Trustees’ Board COGIC; Former Vice-President of the Campostella Civic League; Former Chairman of the Superintendents’ Board and Ordination Board, COGIC, 2nd Jurisdiction, VA.
In addition to all Bishop Daniels has accomplished, he humbly continues to love and serve God, The Church of God in Christ, and the people of God. He has proven to be a pastor apt to teach, preach, and expound the word of God. His primary goal is to lead every man, woman, boy, and girl to Christ that when this life is over, we will all hear the savior say,”Well done.”
